Draglist.com Network
Under Construction. We have been down from 3/30 through today because we
are upgrading our internet access and network from the Starband
Satellite system to a speedy new cable modem. You know my luck with these
things... what looked like a two or three hour deal actually turned out to
be a 24-72 HOUR process. [Note to Comcast Digital Cable -- you need a LOT of
work on your customer setup communications!] At least everyone I've talked
to at Comcast has be pleasant, if not completely informed.
To keep going, today I cobbled together a
system that allows me access via a 26.4K modem. I can transfer files over
our network the old
fashioned way -- by DISKETTE! Look for updates in a few hours. Sorry for the
delay, but "Bleeding Edge Bill" strikes again! This new deal WILL
pay off as soon as it's running. With the volume of data I move on the
internet, I was wasting at least an hour a day WAITING for the Starband
system to pass the data. Now I can use that hour to add more content or to
SLEEP, which will benefit us both in the long run! <g> Talk to you
soon. bp
