The valve train problem turned out to be as simple as having the wrong length spares. I sure wish I had found that out before I removed the intake, but that's the way things go. Oh well.

After discussing this with Harold, he mentioned that the shorter intake push rods that I have actually go to the other side of the engine. Just one more lesson learned in having to deal with this monster.
