It was 50 years ago today, January 4th, 1962 that Peter Thomas Ratajczyk, better known as Peter Steele was born... Peter the frontman of TYPE O NEGATIVE would've been 50 years old today... Some of you are aware that we (Big Stick) recently recorded music with TYPE O NEGATIVE drummer Johnny Kelly (who is a drummer and a gearhead with a '70 Super Bee)... I love TYPE O NEGATIVE and I sure miss Peter... I dedicate today's blog to Peter's memory... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

Today's blog...TODAY PETER STEELE WOULD HAVE TURNED 50... WE REALLY MISS HIM A LOT...

Having witnessed what paralysis has done to drag racing great Darrell Gwynn, I found it awfully disturbing when watching the National Geographic Channel, and seeing the ambition of one woman and those like her... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

Today's blog... WHAT WOULD DARRELL GWYNN THINK OF THIS?...

There's a new commercial running on TV for something called "Pizza Prints", they're round, disc shaped, color images of the NFL football teams helmets that are "edible", and that you put on your pizza... They melt into your hot pizza, so you can enjoy a slice while honoring your favorite NFL franchise... It's a huge hit with gridiron fans... I ask the question of whether or not this concept would be just as popular with NHRA drag racing fans, as it is with NFL football fans... And I give my picks for which NHRA drag racing stars I'd like on my pizza pie... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

With it just exposed that "pageant moms" featured on THE LEARNING CHANNEL'S popular TODDLERS & TIARAS TV show, are forcing their daughters to consume a dangerous sugared-up concoction called "GO-GO JUICE", and do "PAGEANT CRACK", in order to give them a "pageant buzz", to put them in a state of "extreme overdrive" and "enhance" their pageant performance, I make a heartfelt appeal for parents to consider the drag racing alternative for their daughters... With NHRA's Junior Drag Racing League celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, I implore parents to give up the "PAGEANT CRACK" and put their daughters on the race track... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

That's right, Bill!!... Pageant moms need to put down the Crack and get their daughters to the track... In today's blog I discuss a rather serious issue, the issue of why I bother, and work so hard to service this sport the way I so tirelessly do... I share with you the REAL reason why Drag Racing Underground and I labor so arduously, and dedicate ourselves to recording and accurately documenting drag racing history... We all know there's a lot of easier ways to make a buck than sweatin' at the drags, we all know that doing the work I do often requires a level of effort that most "normal" folks wouldn't even consider subjecting themselves to, I get that, but allow me to give you the critical reason why I believe all the blood, sweat 'n' tears I put into this sport is all worth it-- That's what today's most important blog is about... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

I'm not gonna lie and say it's an easy job, 'cause you know darn well that it's not, but I believe there's a need to do it anyway...

Silly season speculation over who would get the job of driving a Force Funny Car in 2012 has definitely run a whacky range and gamut of guessing-- From Brandon Bernstein to Billy Bob Thornton-- From Larry Dixon to Leon Panetta... Recently it was announced that "Courageous Courtney" Force was awarded the job... That's the subject of today's Drag Racing Underground blog... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

I find myself compelled to use my blog as an obituary column when people pass away who mean something to me... Today I pay tribute and honor to the recently deceased Thomas C. Lemons aka "Top Cat", and more commonly known in drag racing circles as "T.C." Lemons... "T.C." is most known for his association, friendship and crew duties with "Big Daddy" Don Garlits over the decades... I write about "T.C.'s" impressive drag racing career, and about the time he approached me and E'Town, and playfully cracked wise with me and struck up an engaging conversation... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

Today's blog..."T.C." LEMONS DRAG RACING RENAISSANCE MAN REST IN PEACE...

Behind every successful man, you'll usually find a good woman, and most likely a good crew chief too...

"T.C" Lemons was the crew chief responsible for much of "Big Daddy" Don Garlits' success...

A few days ago I blogged about a new commercial running on TV for something called "Pizza Prints", they're round, disc shaped, color images of the NFL football teams helmets that are "edible", and that you put on your pizza... They melt into your hot pizza, so you can enjoy a slice while honoring your favorite NFL franchise... I asked the question of whether or not this concept would be just as popular with NHRA drag racing fans, as it is with NFL football fans... And I give my picks for which NHRA drag racing stars I'd like on my pizza pie... Fellow female drag journalist Susan Wade discusses the concept I blogged about in her enlightening STRAIGHT LINE TODAY blog... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

With today being Martin Luther King Day, I salute such notable African American racers as "Brooklyn Heavy", Malcolm Durham, J.R. Todd and others... I also commend drag racing as being a motorsport that's minus racial prejudice... All this in today's Drag Racing Underground blog... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...
