Howdy, boys and girls!!....a quick update........
After a rather hectic day of chasing my tail end (which, granted is a rather small target

) I got over to Tim's to make preparations to go to a car show and "race" for the car show participants that is taking place down in Panama City Fla (then to Breakaway Dragway outside of Blountstown Fla)............Well....Tim was all loaded up to go to a test and tune at our "local " track and said...."are ya goin' or not?? Tighten up!"..........I decided, what the heck, I DO need a couple more laps on Peggy, so off we headed towards US 19 Dragway.
Grrrrrr.....after a brief 6 or 7 miles up the road, I remembered that Tim had borry'd my steerin' wheel for mock up purposes in the new Camaro project we are workin' on for him......and that same steerin' wheel was layin' on the floor of his back shop....under lock and key!.....Well....DAMN!!! So I turned around and headed back to Tim's to sit around and twiddle my fingers until he returned later in the night. I walked over to Tim's folk's house and used their phone to call Tim's cell to let him know what was what.......I can't post what his first response was, but trust me, I shared the sentiment

.... A few minutes later, he called back and ask me if I still wanted to come up and IF so, he was going to send one of his employees with the keys.....I hemmed and hawed for a few seconds and he said... "make up yer damn mind, I ain't got all bleepin' night!!"......I said Oh, alright...send em' on down. Soooo....I settled in for a short nap/ wait for Dusty and his missus to fetch me the shop keys.
They pull up in the yard, hand me the keys and in just a couple of flicks of the wrist, we were off to the track, Finally!!!
Thankfully, the trip to the track was uneventful and I pulled up next to Tim (who was testing his Stock Suspension Nova)............I checked a few things over, then headed for the staging lanes, secure in the knowledge that the car was as ready as could be......"I" on the other hand , was surrounded with a cloud of mystery as to whether or not I was ready for all this. As it turns out, I was

........My first pass produced a best ever 60' time, (a 1.3039) but only a second best, 6.0608 e.t.......A number of people inquired as to whether or not I even shifted on that run, because the tone never really changed going down track. I assured them I did, but that "maybe" my converter was going away.....Just a little while later, I went back out for another hit and was pleasantly surprised with the results....How's about a NEW best ever 60' of 1.2573 and yet another NEW best e.t. of a 5.8523 @ 116.59!!! ummm...did I say "pleasantly surprised"??......Why don't we get real and just admit that I was giddy as a school girl

Keep in mind, that that was only the 4th and 5th full passes on a new motor!! AND, No Spray! (yet

) "I" am MAJOR stoked!!!
After loading up and heading back to Tim's, my "plan" was to get to his place, refill my fuel cell (plus an extra 5 gals of go juice for Peggy) and then zonk out as a prelude to going to the car show/race in Panama City.
ummm....so much for plans

Less than ten miles from the track, I experienced a blow out on the rear tandem of the passenger side of Patch (my trailer)....and elected to just putt-putt along and imp it to Tim's.......sighhh.....60 + miles at only 25 and 30mph is a LONG way. Upon checking the other 3 tires, and noticing a slight amount of oversight, the decision was made NOT to attend the Old Drag Racer's Reunion / Race, that is taking place as I type this. I really hate to miss out on that deal, but I can afford only so much, and 4 new tires for my trailer is just NOT in the budget for this weekend....Say-La-Vie. "Maybe", I'll get the chance to go back to US 19 tomorrow but I ain't holdin' my breath fot that to happen.....Tim suggested this a.m. that we could take Peggy on his roll-back, but I ain't too sure about that scenario, because Peggy sits so low in the front, and the ramp angle on his truck is pretty steep.....Stay Tuned!!
