Doc, you can hear it in the video. I am no longer a burst panel virgin!! It popped loud, then took the belt off. Normal boost is 26-lbs. We went to 31-lbs with the burst panel explosion.

yea ok i thought i heard it.. and in bandit's pic i saw the fresh belt but couldn't tell if it was a fresh panel etc...so did the boost go up as you pedaled as it looks like it was hazing the tires about then :?:

The boost went up from the explosion of the burst panel, or when the belt came off it zinged the blower on the way by. One of the two.

If you imagine the belt and the blower and the crank spinning at one speed making the same boost all the time. Now, let the belt zing into the air it is going to spin the blower at whatever speed the belt is flying upwards at, as it is no longer spinning at crank speed.

I believe it ran out of fuel and went lean is what popped the burst panel.

We were sitting on the spectator side when that run was made. Another great burnout! On the launch the wheels came up and in beautiful AA/FA fashion, the car flew. I don't think it had all four tires on the ground any time during the run. We heard the "pop" from down near the starting line.
We were discussing this AA/FA thing in the pits. School for fuel altereds is the "Wild" Willie Borsch school of altered driving! :D

8) man i am enjoying reading and watching the vids and pics today. Randy excuse me please as i have had my fair share of tin1's... but my thought would be that the hazing (rpms) of the tires, unloading the motor with the nitro caused the lean pop which in turn broke the belt ? or am i way off ? cool lap all the same and i'm glad it was a minor service...Let it be known that all the teams that were at the world series are at the top of my idol lists ! 8)
