Isn't welding aluminum fun.. You heat it and heat it and... then it's not there anymore!
They look good Gary.
I'm building a new oil pan and dry sump tank for mine. Ordering the .090 sheet soon - I'll get lots of practice welding aluminum!

Yea' it sure is a different world from welding mild steel and chromoly. Let me know how your project goes. I think much more practice is in order for me before I start on the hair dryer plumbing .070.

Had a few minutes left of the day yesterday so i turned some brass bushings for the hinges. 1 more cleanup cut on the bottom surface of 3 of them and then I'm ready to turn some SS pins. Little here, little there, maybe I'll have the doors hung one of these days.

Just like a big puzzle, you start with one piece and it ends with one piece. :D

We threw the drivers door off at Baton Rouge, it slid down the track after about a 4-foot wheelie on the first ever launch on the car! Somewhere around here I bet I have it on video.

Sold a ton of tee shirts after that. 8)

Is that why they won't let you run cars with doors on 'em anymore?
