On Sunday afternoon, September 14th, Pro Modified racer Steve Engel succumbed to his injuries suffered at Indy.

What a shock to wake up and read this devastating news. This is so sad to hear. My condolences to his family and may you rest in peace Steve, you'll be missed.

So Sorry about this. Too many deaths. I am beginning to wonder if racing is worth it.

It gives me pause anymore.

Never thought I would hear myself say that

I guess I am getting old and see life more valuable lately.

I know I would have not wanted to missed the last 20 + years.

To see my daughter married. Experiance my grand kids. See my 18 year old grandson take the field in his first college football game last week. etc.

I crashed 4 times in my 40 years racing. I was very very lucky. Especially the one in 1975.
