Mike C., you probably remember Mike H. ( LT1s10) from CHR. I just found this thread over there. Mike was a good guy. Sorry to see him gone, but he has been in poor health for a long time now. He can finally rest.

I am sorry to be the one to tell you that Mike Hammack (LT1S10), passed away back during the early spring. I thought you knew. Back on Feb. 17th, something kept telling me that I needed to go see Mike that day. So I finally gave in and drove to Lynchburg that afternoon. I got to visit with him for about 2 hours. He was not feeling well and told me he was tired of the fight, and was very close to pulling the plug. Within weeks he was back in the hospital and he decided to refuse any and all life support. He was gone within 2 days. I was disappointed in his friends from the Richmond area,as only 2 of us went to his funeral. Although we sometimes fought like cats and dogs, I thought the world of him . I will have nothing but fond memories of Mike. I would like to post something in the Club paying tribute to him, but I certainly don't mind if You do it first. I had tried to do it shortly after he died, but I had not participated in the Club in along time and for some reason I couldn't get through. I know Mike considered You a close friend, even though you never met. He talked of You during many of our phone conversations. You were there when he needed a friend. I feel confident that he is with the Lord today.
