Any interest in a lower ratio Powerglide?

Hi,
My first post here, hopefully it is appropriate. I am an engineer, with a concept to modify the Powerglide so it could provide ratios such as 1.3, 1.4, or 1.5. Would this be of any use to anyone? Ratio could match a Lenco. Is this a good idea, or a waste of time?
All comments greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking maybe not since it would make the jump between 1 & 2 wider, but I suppose it depends on the set-up?

there are some 2 spd. guys here that could give you a better answer.

Hi,
Thanks for your answer. Actually, it makes the jump narrower. Seems most glides are around 1.8 to one.

If I am not mistaken, my tranny/engine buider, Tim, set my glide up with a
1.90(something) low gear...seems to 60ft pretty good. BUT, my converter is real loose (I know it will flash to 6800, as it shifted on the starting line with a 6800 shift chip and no launch chip

)
Trial and error will prove your theory right or wrong. Good luck with it.

In anything that runs nitro,like me,the big deal is pump speed.No pump speed equals back siding since you cant control a converter when it locks up like a clutch. alcohol isnt so picky until you put a blower on. 1.76 is stock ratio.
