I'm reading that Tom Hoover, long time funny car racer, has passed away. May you rest in peace Tom.

It looks like the boards got the wrong person. It was Tom's brother that passed away and not Tom. I apologize for the confusion, but I was going by quite a few "sources"

Condolences to Tom and the Hoover family. They're good people. Raced the big leagues well past the point when others would have thrown in the towel and everybody always rooted for Hoov. Rest in peace, Bob. WC1

Tom Showtime Hoover fans: I'm Paige Hoover, Tom's daughter. While we're touched by the phone calls and messages we've received this morning, I am abundantly pleased to report that Tom Hoover is alive and well in MN on this snowy MN Christmas morning.
It is not very often you can read these kind words from fans, and Dad has really enjoyed the outouring of messages! Thank you all.
Sadly, Tom lost his brother Bob on Dec. 23, who was also a co-owner of Hoover Wheel Alignment, hence many are confused.
Life is short, so enjoy the season!

Farewell to Bob, then. It's tough to lose famliy anytime, but especially at the holidays. bp
