Farewell, E.J. You were one of a kind...

Here is a story E.J. shared with us back in 2005.

I was lucky enough to see EJ race at Wattsburg Drag Strip near Erie, PA in maybe 1960 or 1961. It was a AHRA national event and I can only assume he was there as booked in show. He sure didn't disappoint anyone, that's for sure. At the time I questioned the man's sanity for doing what he did, but in later years I came to realize he was a brilliant man. My condolences go out to his family and a personal Thank You goes out to you Mr. Potter. May you rest in peace sir.

Great post, Andamo. Thanks. EJ Potter put on a show that was hard to beat. His bike and "The Showboat" were top draws as exhibition cars. You will be missed, Mr. Potter. None were braver and more unique. Rest in peace. WC1
