In addition to contributing the hits "With A Girl Like You" and "Love Is All Around", as lead singer of the Troggs, Reg Presley was the great purveyor of an obscure Chip Taylor garage rock song that conquered the world: "Wild Thing". All who knew Reg loved him, he was a great guy and a strong presence in his field. Rest in peace, Reg. Your song touched millions of us in many ways. In a commercial sense, it could have been subtitled "The Impossible Dream". But in the real world, it awakened primal instincts and urges across the world for teens and adults alike. We all had fun with you. Jimi Hendrix closed out his breakthrough set at Monterrey with "Wild Thing" and set his guitar on fire while his band kept playing it. That was the eternal flame that to this day glorifies the simplicity and beauty of THE Classic Rock song. You did good. WC1

I named my 66 GTO "Wild Thing". Had it painted on the sail panels as part of a custom paint job I applied. Like a tattoo, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

R.I.P. Reg.

Cool deal, ProZ! Nothing wrong with WILD THING!!!! Isn't Gary Scelzi's nickname "Wild Thing"? Kyle Busch, too? I remember the "Senator Bobby" version of that song, it was hilarious (sold well, too...)
