Thanks for the great words guys! I am just picking on myself.
I will tell you this, all the cars had the problem with the track. The track workers worked on it all day long to give us something to work with. As the night went on, it got better. The altereds put on a hell of a show. We had some cars running big Nitro loads and did they sound and look bitchen at night like that!
The race didn't lack for excitement. John Dunn, hit the wall, AND GOT BACK IN IT TO FINISH THE RUN!!!
I did a full track burnout in the first run, then left with a .02 light, spun the wheels with the car sliding sideways, pedaled, back in it. to the centerline, one more pedal, with the car sliding sideways down thru the mph lights with my foot buried in her. They tell me the crowd was on their feet screaming,,,,I couldn't hear them.
The crowd really enjoyed the race, the new track owner said, "We will do this again next year!" and the racers made good money and I believe they all left happy.
We had a 3.95 from the Heckler gang in the semi-finals. Heckler qualified with a 4.22 which was low for the session. Tim Hay from Texas won the event with a 4.20. He made 3-hits at the track and took home over 2000.00 dollars. Heckler set low Et, runner upped, got best package [reaction time added to ET] and ended up taking home nearly 3500.00. Quite a few of the racers won either product or cash from manufactures and sponsoring companies of the event!
Big fun at Eddyville,,,even with the rain.
