Warren served as one of the last vestiges of 60's era top fuel racing. He was a regular at Irwindale commencing when the track opened in 1966. The Ridge Route Terrors were one of the first FED cars to crack 230 with sufficient enough frequency to deem the runs legitmate. Isky and Ansen used them for years as proof that their products worked. His quiet and unassuming demeanor off the track was belied by his peddle to the floor approach in getting to the finish line first.
