NOSTALGIA FUNNY CAR WANTED ???

Postby SLICK VIC » Tue Nov 07, 2006 3:14 pm

Hello again,
i am thinking ,..no i am not...i am knowing i want to get
a nostalgia funny car sometime before my age passes, like
a 1971 to 1977 vega........like the 3 cars listed below
green elaephant/ jungle jim/ army funny car
to run in goodguys type deal..nostalgia races etc...
...is it easy enough to purchase one of these, not necessarily
restored to someones original 70`s funny car but some one who
builds them to the 70`s look,.. running on NITRO.
how much does a car cost ???

Cool Vic,

If I was doing it,,,,buy a late model Alky roller so it will cert. and have a good rear end already under it.

Order a re-pop body from one of the guys doing them. There are a number of them doing it now.

Scrounge up a late model Hemi, 20-gallon pump, 2-speed Lenco and haul ass!

Now around here we don't have but 1-Good Guy race, so most everyone here uses bigger pumps and blowers.

Where you are located I would follow the VRA rules, so you can play well with others.

Nope Vic,

They have to be a current car to Cert for 6.0 or a pro-tag. The old chassis won't make the cut.

Use an Enderle hat to keep the look not a carbon fiber one,,,paint it like it should look and have a ball. 8)

When the body is down,,,,all is 1970 again!!! :D

That is John Dunn. He is a good friend of mine. His crew chief Kenny posts here on the board. Great guys and just getting their feet wet on Nitro! 8)

He has an Altered body he also runs on the car. :D
