Phil's letter posted by BP struck a cord with me. The intro. to his letter sounded like a carbon copy of our lives leading up to my Mom's passing. We made several 16 hour round trips back to Iowa over the last year or 2 as Mom's health failed her. I can relate.
I didn't want to hi-jack Phil's thread, but I did think it would be nice to remember my Mom, who passed away one year ago this coming Sunday, Oct. 16th.
I'll always remember that date since Cheryl & I celebrated our 31st. Wedding anniversary Oct. 17th at Mom's wake. As sad as that seems, I tend to remember what a positive influence she was on me and my Brother & Sister. She raised us 3 kids on her own since Dad Died in Jan. '65. The older I get the more I realize the sacrifices she made for us. She lived 24 days passed her 82nd birthday. (which we were all able to be there for) so she had a long life, albeit a hard one.
Thanks Mom (& Dad) for all you've done. R.I.P.
