Glen Ely...

Postby Bret Kepner » Fri Dec 26, 2008 4:54 pm

Glen Ely, one of only a handful of racers to compete in AA/FD with two injected nitro powerplants, is gone. When Glen pulled the "Dueler II", (built in 1969), out of mothballs after it sat for twenty-five years, he jumpstarted nostalgia drag racing in the southeast with what will always be considered one of the most popular cars.

It was always a sincere pleasure talking with Glen about his machine. He was indeed the vanguard of the nostalgia movement in the Southeast. Farewell, sir. bp
